VERITY Pilot & Feasibility Research Award

As you may know, VERITY is the NIAMS-supported P30 grant that was awarded to BWH to support a Methodology core, a Bioinformatics core and the upcoming VERITY/Brigham Course in Rheumatology Clinical Research. VERITY has developed a great deal over the past few months and continues to expand as a resource for many.

Along with the cores and course, VERITY has established the VERITY Pilot & Feasibility (P&F) Research Award. This award is a NIAMS-supported $30,000 grant that is aimed at providing seed funding for new projects as well as to offer an opportunity to the VERITY Research Community to develop skills in proposal preparation. Here you can find a link to the VERITY P&F Research Award application and information about eligibility and submission. If you have any further questions, please contact Jackie Stratton (jstratton1@bwh.harvard.edu).

Scope and Goal of the P&F Research Award

One grant will be awarded per year. The goal of this program is to facilitate access to VERITY Core services (methodology and bioinformatics) for VERITY research community members who are at the rank of Assistant Professor or below. This program is aimed at providing seed funding for new projects, as well as allowing junior members of the VERITY research community an opportunity to develop skills in proposal preparation. We welcome proposals on all topics related to clinical research in rheumatology and musculoskeletal conditions, including a focus on disparities. Please note that the award cannot be used to fund clinical trials, to purchase capital equipment, or to fund travel or meals.

Budget and Submission

VERITY has committed a total of $30,000, inclusive of direct and indirect costs for a one-year period (September 1, 2024 – August 31, 2025).

The grant application is due Wednesday, June 5, 2024, by 5:00PM ET. Grants should be submitted to Jackie Stratton (jstratton1@bwh.harvard.edu). Grants received after this time will not be considered.
